Get your bid in for community cash handout

ALMOST £60,000 is up for grabs to community groups in Brentwood.

Earlier this year Brentwood Council gave thousands of pounds to community groups that had successfully applied for funding.

The council has now launched a second round of funding to promote local initiatives and improve the quality of life for residents.

Russell Quirk chairman of the council’s asset infrastructure and localism panel, said: “Given the phenomenal success of the first round of Brentwood Localism Share Funding, I am excited at the prospect of providing another £57,000 for the community to use on all kinds of projects and causes that will benefit our borough.

"We encourage bids from individuals, resident groups and charities.

“Above all, I want us to be providing the money for people to use to kick start worthwhile projects that they will then become wholly and actively involved in as groups, as neighbours or as individuals.”

All applications must benefit Brentwood’s communities and projects must be delivered in the borough.

Applications need to be submitted to the council by September 28.
