Pothole pressure pays dividends

THE process for reporting potholes is under review after pressure from a Brentwood councillor.

David Kendall, Brentwood councillor for Pilgrims Hatch and a county councillor for Brentwood South, has provoked a response from County Hall.

The Lib Dem representative said: “It seems like at long last we are going to get some action.”

Mr Kendall said months of banging the drum about potholes not being fixed in Brentwood, prompted the council to schedule repairs in a number of Brentwood roads, as reported in the Weekly News last week.

Mr Kendall was sent a response from Derrick Louis, the county councillor responsible for roads, which apologised for delays and suggested the system may be improved in the future.

He said: “I am sorry you and your constituents have experienced a lower than expected standard of customer service.

“We are reviewing the processes in reporting potholes and as part of these improvements we have updated our website to allow individuals to monitor the location of works and to view a full list of roads we will be repairing.”
