New website set to boost town
8:00am Friday 7th September 2012 in News
A WEBSITE is being launched today (Friday) in a bid to help traders and shoppers get the most from the town.
Brentwood Council is putting Love brentwood.co.uk online to provide a source for anyone wanting to find out information about shops, bars, restaurants and cafes in the area.
Shoppers will be able to see where the best places are to park and any special offers being put up by the establishments.
Business owners will also have the chance to use the website to upload their details and what services they can provide.
The website will focus on Brentwood first before eventually expanding into Shenfield, Warley Hill and Ingatestone over the next few months.
Mark Reed, councillor responsible for retail, community and culture, feels the site will give a great boost to all traders in the borough.
Mr Reed said: “The new Love Brentwood website is an important promotional tool for all of the businesses in and around Brentwood, from high street brands to independent shops and restaurants.
“It’s an online tool to increase interest in and support for local businesses.”
The website has also been backed by the Renaissance Group, who work alongside the council to make improvements to the town centre.
Nick Abbot, the group’s chairman, said: “It’s very easy to use and our aim is to get all businesses on to the website in the next few months.
“We also urge residents to keep an eye out for the latest news and events that we offer.”
On Friday and Saturday, shopping bags with information about the website will be handed out in the town centre.
