Act to get share of community fund

COMMUNITY organisations are being urged to apply for a share of a grant programme before the deadline comes at the end of the month.

Brentwood Council’s Localism Share Fund will split £55,500 between groups and people who have submitted an application for the money in grants worth up to £5,000.

Since the scheme was launched proposals have been sent into the authority but people are being reminded there is still time to make a bid for the cash with the deadline looming on September 28.

Russell Quirk, councillor responsible for assets, infrastructure and localism, said: “I’m pleased that we have had several proposals submitted for this year’s money but I’m also keen to see as many applications as possible.

“So I’d urge all to make sure they submit their ideas by 28 September 2012.”
