Amnesty on big items of rubbish
8:00am Tuesday 18th September 2012 in News
RESIDENTS were able to get rid of large items of rubbish like tables and chairs as part of an amnesty set up by Brentwood Council.
Binmen went around the Brentwood West ward on Saturday collecting rubbish which is too big to squeeze into a bag as part of the Bulky Waste Amnesty Scheme.
The project will travel around different parts of Brentwood and allow people to hand over big items like tables, TVs or wardrobes to be taken away.
Some of the items collected will be given to the Lighthouse Furniture company to be recycled.
The amnesty runs again in Brentwood West on Saturday (September 15) with residents advised to leave the rubbish in the street by their homes at 7.30am.
