Actor to run workshops at theatre
8:00am Sunday 21st October 2012 in News
Gary Tushaw
A WEST End star is returning to the Brentwood Theatre to offer acting classes to amateur performers.
Gary Tushaw will be hosting the workshops at the venue, just off Shenfield Road, on October 28 and November 18, to help sharpen performers’ stage skills.
The actor, who has appeared in productions across the globe such as Les Miserables, the Mousetrap and A Christmas Carol, will explore different types of acting during the lessons.
As a young performer, Mr Tushaw, who trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, in London, appeared in a number of productions at the theatre and also won a Brent award.
Both workshops, which run from 10am to 1pm, are expected to be quite active to fit with Mr Tushaw’s teaching style.
However, classes are open for people of all abilities.
Mark Reed, administrator for the theatre, said: “Gary wholeheartedly believes that an actor can only discover by doing.
“Therefore, the workshops will be quite active and we will discover as we go.
“If, however, you are not very mobile, you are still very welcome to the workshops either to observe, or to take part in what you can manage.
“This is a unique opportunity to learn from a great, young actor and meet other actors who want to get better and better.”
Taking part in one session costs £25, though an offer to enter both at a discounted price of £40 is on offer.
Group sizes will be limited to a maximum of 20 for both dates.
To book a slot in either of the workshops, contact the theatre by calling 01277 230833.
