Cyclist breaks ankle in hit-and-run

A TEENAGE cyclist was left with a broken ankle after being hit by a car which sped away.

The girl, 17, from Brentwood was at the junction of Sawyers Hall Lane, on Highlands Avenue, at about 7.50am, on Friday October 12, when her bike was clipped by a small, blue car.

The driver of the vehicle failed to stop leaving other motorists to help.

Police officers are now appealing for witnesses to help track down the driver involved.

Pc Rob Bray said: “I urgently need to speak to the driver. “Any other witnesses who have not contacted me can also contact me by calling 101.”
