THE first phase of the renaissance of a parade of shops left devastated by fire will be launched when a temporary newsagents opens later this summer.
It was announced in May a temporary newsagents and post office would replace Martin McColl, which was one of several shop units of the Triangle Shops, off High Road, Langdon Hills, burnt out in January.
The chain has now announced the temporary shop, which will be sited in the precinct’s car park, has a provisional launch date of September 6.
However, the retail chain admitted a post office might not be in place at the store in time for its opening.
David Burton-Sampson, from the Langdon Hills Residents’ Association, said: “There’s a concern the opening date keeps getting pushed back.
"We first heard itwas going to open on August 9.
"But this is a step in the right direction."
