A SECTION of the M25 that was badly damaged in a serious crash should be fully re-opened this week.

One lane in each direction was shut following a serious crash between junctions 26 and 27 near to Theydon Bois.

A 39-year-old man from Leicester was declared dead at the scene following a pile up involving four lorries and a car on Wednesday, December 10.

Two men, aged 33 and 25, were arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving About 45 metres of concrete safety barrier needs to be replaced following the crash, along with 250 square metres of road surface.

Work is underway, and is being carried out both during the day and overnight, when additional lane closures are in place.

A spokesman from The Highways Agency said how quickly the work can be completed depends on weather conditions, with temperature and rainfall.

These will affect how long it takes the concrete to reach full strength.

The agency says it will work hard to keep three lanes open at all busy times, and up to date traffic information will be available on the Highways Agency’s website.
