A MAN was left with head injuries after being beaten up and robbed of his mobile phone.

The 27-year-old man from Canvey was walking along Beambridge in Pitsea when he was grabbed from behind and dragged to the floor by his neck.

While he was down two robbers punched and kicked him in the face and body.

They riffled through his pockets and snatched his Apple iPhone 6, and Ben Sherman wallet containing £50 cash.

The robbers made off with the stash- worth about £880- along Beambridge towards Pitsea Road.

The incident happened at about 10.45pm on December 27. 

The victim later went to hospital where doctors found he had concussion caused by a head injury.

The first robber was a white, medium build and aged between 18 and 30 years.

He was wearing a black jacket and black scarf around his face.

The second attacker was also a white man aged 18 to 30 years and slim build.

He was wearing a dark blue jacket with a hood pulled over his head.
