Three people have been arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs after police raided a home in Basildon.
Officers from the Basildon Proactive Team, based at Pitsea, executed a search warrant at a property in Butneys at about 10am yesterday.
They found a package containing up to 50 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin, believed to be worth about £500 in street value.
The package will be sent to forensic teams for DNA testing.
A 20-year-old man of no fixed address and a 17-year-old girl from Basildon were arrested on suspicion of supplying a controlled drug.
A 19-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
They are currently in custody awaiting questioning.
Police obtained the search warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act after acting on intelligence received.
Deputy Chief Constable Derek Benson accompanied officers to see the work they carry out every day to tackle crime.
