TWO people were taken to hospital following a crash in South Benfleet.
A 71-year-old woman who suffered leg injuries and a 19-year-old woman were taken to Southend Hospital after the crash in Essex Way.
Two fire crews from Rayleigh Weir were called to the scene to free the 71-year-old from the car she was trapped in.
A black Peugeot 406 and a blue Vauxhall Corsa were in collision on Essex Way at 1.20pm on Wednesday (April 18).
The road was closed after the accident and was not re-opened until the evening following police investigation.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the accident.
