Lorry collision causes chaos for commuters

COMMUTERS are suffering major delays as trains have been brought to a standstill.

Trains running through Chelmsford on the National Express East Anglia line have ground to a halt after a lorry hit a central barrier on a bridge north of Shenfield.

Services are running up to 20 minutes late as railway workers are assessing whether the bridge is safe enough for trains to continue operating.

The southbound carriage of the A12 has also been closed following the accident.
