PLAY in the Park will again take over Chelmsford’s green spaces for sports, arts, crafts and games throughout August.
Provided by Chelmsford Council, Play in the Park is a series of two hour multi-activity sessions for children. The sessions are free of charge and run by experienced play workers who are experts in keeping children entertained.
Over 4,000 participants attended last year. Some venues this time around have extra activities such as reptile handling and bouncy castles.
Most activities are based outside and are for children aged six to 11, though some do cater for younger children.
Councillor Ray Ride, in charge of leisure and culture, said: “Calling all parents – these Play in the Park sessions are the perfect way to encourage your children to put down those games consoles and to become a bit more active during the summer school holidays, and it's free of charge!”
