WITH just two months to go before the inaugural Chelmsford Marathon, organisers The J’s Hospice has announced that the number of people signed to take part in the race has surpassed 1,700.
The number has gone way past the initial target of 1,500, but organizers are have said those who still want to race have to get in quick as the limit is 2,000 racers.
The Hospice are also looking for a number of extra volunteers to help on race day – Sunday, October 19 - in a wide variety of roles. They include helping at the start and finish area in Central Park, being a course marshal, helping to pack and distributing goody bags, admin support to the event and to hand out finishers medals.
If you can offer support in any way, call The J’s Hospice on 01245 475 474 and ask for Jess or Maz.
