A BOXING club is holding an open morning this weekend.

The Harway House-based Chelmsford Amateur Boxing Club are opening the club up to men, women and children of any age to find out more about the sport.

Visitors, inspired perhaps by recent British boxing success in the Olympics, will be invited to join in with training or just watch and see the benefits the sport offers.

The open morning begins at 10am on Sunday at the club in Rectory Lane.

Johnny Mouser, club treasurer, said: “Boxing is a highly disciplined sport and I feel it will be good for the Chelmsford public to see how hard the ladies and lads prepare themselves for competition.

Grant Riley, club chairman, added: “This will be a good chance for people thinking about joining our club to have a taste of what it is like. The club is absolutely buzzing at the moment.”
