THE Boswells School in Chelmsford has a new head teacher.

Paul Banks has taken over from David Crowe following the latters retirement.

Mr Banks Banks was previously head teacher of Roding Valley High School in Loughton where he was praised by Ofsted for his “strong, clear and visionary” leadership.

He said he was delighted to start in his new position.

He said: “It is a great privilege and honour to have been appointed head teacher of The Boswells School and I look forward to working with parents and staff to ensure that our students achieve the highest levels of academic attainment, as well as an opportunity to experience the outstanding range of extra-curricular activities available at the school.

“Our A-Level and GCSE results this year make us one of the highest performing schools in the Mid Essex area and our staff and students should be very proud of what they have achieved.”

Mr Banks also spoke about his vision for the future development of the school, which is on Burnham Road.

He said: “The Boswells School has, quite rightly, a superb reputation in the local and wider community for the educational provision it offers students and I am excited about the future of the school.

“Our prime focus will be on continuing the high quality of teaching and learning at the school to ensure that every student achieves the highest possible levels of attainment.

“We understand that children get one chance at secondary education and the staff at the school are fully committed to ensuring that each child, regardless of ability, succeeds.”
