DURING the celebration of Ashley Woolley's life on Monday his father, Trevor Woolley, reflected on his son's love, kindness and enthusiasm for life.
Mr Woolley, of Witham, said: “December 18 changed our lives forever.
“My life will never be the same again.
“I miss Ashley, his smile, his laughter, his cheekiness, his asking me forapound for an energy drink each time I saw him, his many reasons why he didn’t get up in the morning.”
He read a touching poem entitled I’d Rather See You Smiling by Alan Pemberton, which he said summed Ashley up, as he would want everyone to be smiling and not mourning.
Mr Woolley said: “You’ve taken me through an incredible journey, I love you and miss you my son.”
Speaking after the service, he added: “The turnout was incredible. I can’t imagine a better send-off for Ashley, it really was what he deserved.
“We would like to thank everybody who attended today for their support and for helping us to celebrate his life and helping us with this hard journey.”
Donations in memory of Ashley should be made to the Essex Air Ambulance
