AS part of Chelmsford Council’s ongoing commitment to keeping the residents of Chelmsford active, its Leisure Centres have launched a brand new ‘Challenge Yourself’ initiative for customers to take part in.

Throughout the year there will be a series of themed challenges to help motivate you to achieve your exercise goals. The Council hopes that competing in their challenges will give participants that boost of energy and enthusiasm to really reach their goals.

Some of the challenges coming up include: ‘London to Paris cycle ride’ and the ‘30 days beach body!’. The current challenge ‘Row the Channel’ will run until Sunday, April 12, with a free Leisure Plus Pedometer for every participant that completes it.

Councillor Ray Ride, in charge of parks and leisure, Councillor Ray Ride, said: “People of all ages and fitness levels can give these challenges a go with the gym team on hand for support and advice. There will be some great prizes to win along the way just for taking part! Those who complete all the challenges will be entered into a prize draw to be crowned Champion Challenger 2015 and win six months free membership at our leisure centres.”

The gym team are really excited about 2015 and can’t wait to get residents signed up to their challenges.
