THE FATHER of a teenager who was stabbed to death has spoken out after another teen admitted killing his son.

Trevor Woolley told The Weekly News that he hoped Steven Davenport, 18, of Hillside Grove, Chelmsford, will be locked up for the rest of his life after admitting stabbing Ashley Woolley, also 18, in December.

Mr Woolley, 47, who has now seen CCTV footage of the attack on Ashley by the Chelmsford Museum in Oaklands Park, said: “Ashley had agreed to meet Davenport during a break in college and he was totally unaware of what was going to happen to him.

“He went to see someone who he thought was a friend but Davenport came out and stabbed him from behind.”

Mr Woolley described how, in the CCTV, the teenagers struggled on the ground before Ashley called for help and Davenport ran off.

Ashley sadly died in Broomfield Hospital soon after the attack.

Mr Woolley added: “The police have told me his killer had been planning this, that killing someone was a fantasy. He’s a cold blooded killer.

“I’ve been told Davenport was a loner in class but Ashley had befriended him even though the other kids said to leave him alone.

“Davenport, who was in Ashley’s business classes, used that friendship to get him to the place he wanted and to kill him.

“Ashley grew up thinking you should include everyone and be nice to everyone and sadly, in my eyes, that was his undoing.

“But I don’t want people to stop caring or being kind to people, they should be encouraged to welcome people in and include everyone.

“I’m proud of him for that.”

Davenport is due to be sentenced in July.
