Sainsbury’s Springfield has announced that Farleigh Hospice will be the store’s Local Charity of the Year.
The charity was voted in by customers in store and online with a total of 84 votes.
The Farleigh Hospice cares for people affected by life limiting illnesses and supports those who have been bereaved.
There will be a celebration at the store on July 31 to August 2 and also be fundraising for the new charity by holding a Cycle for Life in the foyer of the Springfield Store.
The Local Charity scheme is now in its seventh year and this year for the first time, customers got the chance to vote for their favourite charity from a shortlist put together by their local store.
The scheme has raised over £7 million to support local charities since 2009.
