TWO councillors are getting out on the streets to meet their Chelmsford public and find out what is important to them.
Michael Holoway and John De Vries brought a mobile information unit to the Copperfield Road Morrisons and met customers.
They hope the “on the street ” surgeries will help make them more accessible to those with issues and aim to repeat the service in more locations soon.
Mr Holoway said: "It was a huge success for us; we actually spoke to nearly 300 people, but around 700 people could not help but notice us.
"Some passing comments were: "That's a refreshing sight!" and "blimey, they've come out of the Town Hall!"
"We hope to make this a regular exercise around Patching Hall ward, which helps us get to the silent majority who would not normally come forward with a complaint or alert us to a problem."
