A JAZZ club will return to a popular Chelmsford pub for the final time this year with an energetic and lively lineup.

GC’s Jazz Club makes its final appearance of 2015 with a performance from guitarist Nigel Price.

He will stand in for musician Jim Mullen, who is now unable to attend after his european tour dates were extended.

Mr Price let his organ trio picked up the 2010 Parliamentary Jazz Award for best jazz ensemble and is one of the most highly regarded and in demand guitarists on the UK jazz scene today.

He spent three years with UK funk legends – the James Taylor Quartet, and was placed third in the 2014 British Jazz Awards for “best guitarist”.

He is a regular performer at Ronnie Scott’s Club, London where to date he has played more than 400 times.

His blend of flowing bebop lines, deep blues feeling and mastery of chording has made him instantly accessible and popular with jazz audiences.

He will be joined by musician Reg Webb who is one of the innovators of the UK's Jazz Fusion scene, achieving success with his own band Fusion, which later became the Reg Webb Band featuring Nik Kershaw.

He has toured with Lenny Kravitz, Suzi Quatro, and Vanessa Paradis.

Organiser Graeme Culham said: “We are very pleased to have him return to the club.”

The free Jazz Club will begin at 8.30pm on Sunday, December 6. Call 01245 259295
