CONGRATULATIONS, you did it!

Dozens of brave runners took on - and conquered - the 2016 London Marathon.

Rob Walster, 25, of South Woodham Ferrers, ran for the mental health charity Mind.

He said: "It was absolutely amazing up to mile 17 when I hit the wall… Then it was slightly less amazing.

"But all round a brilliant experience.

"Thank you to everyone involved yesterday, the runners who make it such a great event and all the spectators who keep our spirits up through the tough miles."

Stephen Turner, 31, of Chelmsford, ran for Children with Cancer UK.

He said: "I completed the marathon in 3:52 which was a personal best.

"The race was great, constant support and shouting all the way round and I must've neared triple figures in high fives.

"I felt exhausted at mile 17 but managed to keep pushing forward until the finish and very happy I did.

"I got lots of messages and donations towards Children with Cancer UK on the lead up that showed huge support and kept me going. Now to sign up to the next race!"

Rachel Stilwell-Stage, 23, is running for Farleigh Hospice.

She said: "This was be my first marathon.

"I always dreamed of running in it since I used to go and watch with my Dad when I was little, and now aged 23 I get to do it!

"I am running in memory of my Grandma who passed away there almost six years ago, and my Nanna has been a fundraiser for them for years and years so it is close to our hearts for both reasons.

"Farleigh hospice are an awesome charity and I couldn't think of a better reason to run."
