NEARLY 650 runners pulled on their trainers and ran 10 miles in aid of Chelmsford charities.
The Great Baddow Charity Races saw runners take on a ten mile route through Chelmsford and a two mile fun run while visitors enjoy a day of fun activities at Great Baddow Recreation Grounds.
Chairman of the Races Committee Robert Cappin said: "Someone described it as a serious race combined with a village fête.
"We have been inundated with congratulation on the success of the event.
"One person has already noted on facebook that they have raised nearly a thousand pounds for their charity.
"The numbers are up on last year so I expect to overtake last years funds raised once all the bills are in."
