THE DAD of teenager Ashley Woolley is celebrating after giving blood in memory of his son for the fourth time.

Trevor Woolley, 47, is delighted to have successfully given his fourth pint of blood during a donation session in Witham for the Give Ten Pints for Ashley campaign.

The Weekly News began the campaign after Mr Woolley, who lives in Witham, vowed to give 10 pints of blood in honour of his son, Ashley Woolley, 18.

The teenager received 10 pints of blood during the battle to save his life after he was stabbed by a classmate in Oaklands Park in December 2014.

Mr Woolley said: “I don’t really like needles to be honest so I do get a bit nervous each time but all of the nurses do their best to make it a easy as possible.

“It’s such a good thing to do, even if you are nervous or scared of needles.

You know what a great impact you are having. As you are giving blood you know you are helping up to three people each time.

“That’s what gets you through, knowing how much good you will do.”
