HUNDREDS of people united to Walk for Life from Heybridge to Chelmsford for a hospice.
The annual Farleigh Hospice walk saw 813 people walk either a 12km route from Paper Mill Lock or a 24km route from Heybridge Basin to e2v Technologies in Chelmsford.
Together the walkers have pledged to raise more than £60,000 for the hospice, which cares for people affected by life limiting illnesses.
Dominique Brunning, Events Manager, said: “Many people were walking in memory of loved ones; it’s a very humbling day to be part of.
"Others were simply keen to enjoy the beautiful Essex countryside whilst helping local people affected by life limiting illness - we are so glad the rain held off!
"Huge thanks go to our sponsors M&G Investments, e2v Technologies for generously donating the use of their site, and the volunteers, staff and local companies that helped the day run smoothly.”
