Fire crews were called to a house fire on Shirebourne Vale this afternoon
FIREFIGHTERS were called to a house and garage fire in Shirebourne Vale, South Woodham Ferrers earlier today.
The car port was alight and filled with smoke upon the crews arrival at around 1.23pm.
The garage had been destroyed and the attached house was also alight.
Crews from Great Baddow, Wickford and Rayleigh Weir wore breathing apparatus and used three hose reel jets and a ground monitor to tackle the blaze.
After the fire was extinguished at around 2.33pm, a thermal imaging camera was used to check for hot spots and a ventilation fan was used to clear smoke.
Two people were left in the care of the ambulance service suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.
