A NEW McDonald’s restaurant offering table service has this week swung open its doors for business.

The store, situated in Robjohn’s Road, Chelmsford has created 100 new jobs, and was opened during a ribbon cutting ceremony by new Chelmsford mayor Patricia Hughes.

It was opened on Wednesday July 13.

Speaking before the ceremony, franchisee Ahmet Mustafa, said: “I’m thrilled to be opening a new restaurant in Chelmsford, there has been a lot of excitement from the team.

“Technology has a huge role to play in all walks of life, including our custom - ers’ eating out experience, so the new technology we’re introducing recognises the way people live their lives today.

“The addition of table service will enable our customers to order at the self-order kiosk, sit down in a designated zone and have their meals delivered direct to their tables.”

Ahmet Mustafa has been a franchisee since 2013.

With the new restaurant, he now employs over 400 staff members across his three Chelmsford sites.

McDonald’s continues to role out its digital table service technology across the country.

By the end of this year, it aims for over 400 restaurants across the country to offer the technology.
