POLICE are hunting a "banterish" man in connection with an attack at Chelmsford station.
The victim, a male in his thirties, was approach by a group of three men on the platform, who joked with him before striking him in the face causing injury.
The attack happened in the early hours of Sunday May 15.
Investigating officer detective constable Alan Reid said: “Violence and assault will never be tolerated and we’re working hard to trace to person responsible.
“Understandably the victim was left feeling rather shaken.
"He also sustained some bruising as well as cuts which required medical attention and stitching.
“I’d like to hear from anyone who has information on the incident or who might be able to identify the person responsible."
British Transport Police have released an image of this man, who it would like to speak to in connection with the attack.
Information can also be passed anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
