THOUSANDS of children enjoyed a fufilled weekend at a teddy bear’s picnic.

Visitors to Marsh Farm, in South Woodham Ferrers, got to meet their favourite characters, including loveable book character the Gruffalo, and pose for pictures.

There were also themed storytelling sessions, goat racing and arts and crafts.

Performers, including magicians, also took to the stage to entertain families.

A teddy bears picnic was the highlight of the weekend.

James Martin, from Marsh Farm, said around 2,000 people took part in the event.

He said: “It was a lovely weekend, it’s so nice seeing all the children smiling when they meet their favourite characters, so I can’t wait to see all the smiling faces at our Kidsfest event on August 14.”

Kidsfest, dubbed by Marsh Farm bosses as “Glastonbury for kids” will feature a full line-up of children’s acts and show characters, have-a-go workshops and attractions.
