FOOD lovers can now enjoy tasty treats, rum cocktails and reggae music at Chelmsford's new Caribbean restaurant.

The new 200-seat restaurant, based in the the Exchange in High Chelmer Shopping Centre, opened in style with a red carpet, all-singing, all-dancing launch party complete with live reggae music and is now open to the public.

Decked out in a urban-meets-beach style, oil drum lamp shades, reclaimed wood and a wall made from old speakers add to the quirky charm of Turtle Bay and, although the Caribbean weather is missing, diners could be forgiven for forgetting they are not actually lounging at a beachside bar and jerk chicken shack.

More than 40 rums are on offer at the restaurant, which serves spicy dishes and runs long two-for-one happy hour sessions.
