POLICE have issued CCTV images of a man suspected of breaking into a car parked in Chelmsford.

Officers were contacted at 10.20pm on Thursday, June 30, following reports that a man had smashed a door window to enter a black Citroen taxi left in a car park behind Greenwood House in New London Road.

A quantity of cash was taken from the car.

Investigating officer PC Gemma Hicks said: "We believe that the suspect cycled into the car park, stole the cash then rode off along an access road into Moulsham Street where he was picked up on a shop CCTV.

"We would like to hear from anyone who can name the man in the CCTV image or anyone who has any information about him.”
