Mothers’ mud fury swings to joy
*
THIS group of mothers had something to celebrate after their park was reclaimed from the mud. Parents came together to form Mums Against Mud after becoming fed up with wading across soggy playing fields to get to the swings at King George’s Playing Fields, in Ingrave Road. They arranged to protest in the park on Valentine’s Day, but called it off after Brentwood Council installed two new swings on hardstanding. Claire Mackaness said: “We are really delighted with the new swings. It is only a temporary measure as the council is applying for some lottery funding, but we don’t mind waiting if we can keep dry.”
