Art competition success for youngster

A YOUNG painter from Brentwood has won the top prize at a regional art award.
Scott Coates, 19, picked up first place at the Havering Young of the Year competition 2012 for his portrait works using acrylic and oil paints.
He received his award at the Queens Theatre in Romford on Saturday and said winning was a special feeling.
Scott said: “I am really pleased to have been chosen as winner of this coveted award, which will look very good on my CV in years to come.”
