TWO people, arrested in connection with a violent attack on a rival ice cream vendor, have been released without charge.

The duo, a 48-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman from Great Warley in Brentwood, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

It follows an alleged attack on a man at Grays Beach on July 25 this year.

They returned to answer bail and were both released without charge.

A third man, Danny Trigg, 23, of Danbury Crescent, South Ockendon was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, assault by beating and criminal damage.

He denied all the charge when he appeared at Basildon Crown Court and will stand trial next month.
