SHOPPERS will be encouraged to visit more smaller independent traders in Brentwood on Saturday as part of a national scheme.
Small Business Saturday will take hold in the borough giving shop owners the chance to promote themselves during one of the busiest shopping days of the year in the run-up to Christmas.
As part of the event, activities such as live music, a visit from Santa Claus and children's rides will also be on show.
Free car parking is being made available at the multi-storey in Coptfold Road, Brentwood, along with Hunters Avenue and Friars Avenue car parks in Shenfield.
Two hours free parking is also available at the Market Place and Bell Mead car parks in Ingatestone.
Lin Heath, owner of French Quarter in Crown Street, said: "This campaign is a great opportunity for small businesses to emphasise the importance of shopping in their high street and keeping money in the local economy.
“We are expecting it to be a good day, and we have some great entertainment planned for people to enjoy whilst shopping."
