AN ALBUM has been recorded by a school band featuring their versions of hit songs to get on the road with.
Brentwood School’s Big Band went into the recording studio following a successful summer tour of Austria and produced Music to Drive By.
On the 12-track album are cover vesrions of songs like Don’t Stop Me Know by Queen, Beyond The Sea by Bobby Darin and a couple of James Bond themes including Diamonds Are Forever.
The school’s director of music David Pickthall acted as producer for the record while head of percussion Marc Cecil did the album’s mixing.
Copies can be bought for £10 with staff saying it will make a good Christmas gift for a loved one.
School headteacher Ian Davies said: “We are sure you will agree with all those who have already heard the CD, this is a fine memento of a band at its very peak, and we hope you will wish to have a copy for yourself.”
