DINERS of a pub which is also a Thai restaurant in Pilgrims Hatch have raised £7,000 for charity by buying prawn crackers.
The Rose and Crown, on Ongar Road, put 25p from each plate of crackers sold at the venue towards a fund for the Baan Tharn Orphanage in Thailand.
Customers were also given the option of adding an extra £1 to their bill for the appeal.
Restaurant general manager Angie Barclay said: "Diners have really got behind the idea and are delighted to be able to do their bit to help these kids."
