AN INQUEST has been opened looking into the death of a 20-year-old struck by a train near Shenfield station.

Rodney Larsh, from Barking, who had autism, was killed on Christmas Eve after a train hit him as he walked along the tracks.

Senior coroner for Essex Caroline Beasley-Murray opened the inquest during a hearing on Monday at County Hall in Chelmsford.

She adjourned the hearing until February 10 to await family and British Transport Police statements along with toxicology reports.
