A WOMAN was left with a cut lip and bruising after three men attempted to rob her house.

The crooks forced the female, who is in her 50s, face down after she answered the door to them at about 1.40pm on December 16.

They then went upstairs to search the property but were chased out by the victim's son before anything could be taken.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses with descriptions of two men out of the three involved in the incident released.

One is described as black, in his mid-20s and wearing a dark hooded coat.

The other description is of a white man, also in his mid-20s, wearing a black coat with a furry hood and light-coloured jogging bottoms.

Anyone with information should contact Dc Patrick Snape, or his colleagues at Brentwood, on 101.

Alternatively, witnesses can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
