HIGHWAYS chiefs have apologised after a pothole they said was fixed turned out to be unrepaired - as highlighted in last week’s Weekly News.
The “crater” can be found at the junction of Kings Chase and Kings Road, Brentwood had apparently been fixed.
Yet our photo revealed otherwise.
Now council bosses have apologised - and promised to fix it.
A council spokesman said: “Essex Highways would like to sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused due to this specific highways defect.”
Lib Dem county councillor David Kendall, who had taken the picture of the unrepaired pothole, said: “I am very pleased.
“Brentwood residents quite rightly expect a far better service when it comes to pothole and footpath repairs than they have been getting.”
