THIS Saturday Brentwood Market will join more than 900 across the country by taking part in the Love Your Market campaign.

For the third year running, the market is teaming up with the campaign which is is led by the National Association of British Market Authorities.

The campaign aims to highlight the importance that a market plays in the heart communities, not only for retail but as a valuable community asset that provides a focal point.

Brentwood Market is held every Saturday in the High Street and gives shoppers the chance to buy a wide range of food and goods, and this week, every shopper who buys something from the market will be entered into a raffle draw for a chance of winning vouchers to spend there.

Mayor of Brentwood, Councillor Madeline Henwood will be popping along to the market herself.

She said: “I found myself representing the borough on BBC Radio One recently in a quiz and mentioned the 13th century charters for the Brentwood market and fair.

“I’m proud of our borough’s history and proud to go along and support our market. I will be taking my purse along with me too because like most of us, I can’t resist a bargain!”
