BRENTWOOD’S independent retailers celebrated their businesses over the weekend.

The town’s shops and cafe’s, which don’t belong to big chains, stuck posters in the windows and enjoyed a day of entertainment on the high street.

David Kendall, chairman of Brentwood Borough Council’s business and town centre committee said: “There is a real sense of community within our independent shops and it was such a warm and friendly atmosphere that I’m sure visitors who had maybe visited for the first time will be back again.”
