BRENTWOOD Festival returns this weekend for its fourth outing with the line-up its biggest and best yet.
As well as a mix of great local bands offering tunes from r’n’b to indie, reggae legends UB40 will close the weekend on Sunday with a set spanning their career including Red, Red Wine and Kingston Town.
The festival kicks off tomorrow (18th) at Bishops Hall Park with a day billed as 80’s Roll Back. Glitterball will play a variety of the decades best party songs before Kool As The Gang play a tribute to the band that brought us Jungle Boogie.
Headlining the first night will be the legendary Alexander O’Neil. The soulman will be bringing a collection of his greatest hits to Brentwood including If You Were Here Tonight.
Saturday will see a mix of pop, rock, mod and ska brought to the festival with a collection of Brentwood and Essex based acts providing the entertainment throughout the day.
Ska favourites The Dualers will get the crowd dancing, whilst One Step Behind will be performing their best Madness impression.
Mod fans are in for a treat when Ocean Colour Scene’s Simon Fowler and drummer Oscar Harrison perform their critically acclaimed acoustic show featuring all the OCS hits.
The final day of the festival will see further established acts take to the stage such as the X-Factor’s Lydia Lucy and Essex favourites Funky Voices, before UB40 close the event with a show that is sure to leave fans singing and dancing well into the night.
Childrens acitivites and a wide selection of food and drink will be available at the event, which is situated next to the Brentwood Centre.
Day tickets are £20, and a weekend pass is £50. Camping options are also available.
