A YOGA studio in Brentwood raised more tha £3,200 for mental health charity mind as it celebrated its first birthday.

The Brentwood Yoga & Wellbeing Studio brought 100 people together for a mass "Yogathon" on Shenfield Common in May.

Yogis carried out 108 sun salutations, an ancient and well-known sequence of 12 postures and breaths that improves your mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.

The event raised thousands for Brentwood MIND, and a cheque for £2,910 was handed to the charity. More donations have rolled in since, taking the total to £3,200.

Jessica Livingston, the founder of Brentwood Yoga & Wellbeing Studio, said: "Yoga and meditation are proven to have a big impact on how we feel therefore it made perfect sense to team up with Brentwood MIND to help local people who are suffering with stress, anxiety, depression, self esteem issues and many other conditions.

"We had a fantastic day and will be turning it into an annual May event where everyone’s welcome, I’m delighted that we raised so much money as we put it all together in just over a month."
