POP STAR Pixie Lott is giving Chelmsford youngsters the perfect opportunity to follow in her footsteps by setting up a stage school in the city with her family.

Number one selling artist, Pixie, her sister Charlie-Ann and mum Beverley are forming an Italia Conti associate school, which will run on Saturdays and have direct links to the famous London performing arts college where Pixie learnt her trade.

And the 23-year-old, who starts out on Strictly Come Dancing this week and released her latest single “Break Up Song” last weekend, will help out at the school when she can.

Beverley exclusively told the Weekly News: “While still only young herself, Pixie is very keen to encourage youngsters. Singing has always been her passion.

"So she will take a lead on the singing and songwriting element at the school.”

The Pixie Lott Italia Conti theatre school, for youngsters aged three and up, will make use of the great facilities at Boswells School when it opens in January 2015.

The Lotts are keen for the school to have a fun feel about it.

Beverley added: “This is something we’ve wanted to do since Pixie was so successful at the school. We’re very excited about it.”

An open day will be held at Boswells on Sunday, October 12.
