A TEENAGE girl from Morocco has gone missing while visiting relatives in Essex.

Aalaya Tarawate, 16, who speaks no English, was last seen on Tuesday, October 7, at the home of her uncle and aunt who live in Brentwood.

She is believed to have gone sight-seeing in London on her own after apparently making contact with fellow Arabic or French speakers on a social network site.

Aalaya was seen in Shepherd’s Bush on Wednesday at about 1.30pm and there was a potential sighting at Stratford railway station at 7pm.

Inspector Russ Welch said: "Aalaya had very little money and speaks no English. We believe that she was trying to make her way back to Brentwood but she has not been seen since.

“We are extremely concerned for her safety and want to hear from anyone who has seen her or might have seen anything on social media about her.”

Aalaya is 5ft 4in tall and has long dark curly hair. When last seen she was wearing a black leather coat, jeans and brown boots.

Anyone with information should call officers at Brentwood on 101.
