THE Police and Crime Commissioner will host his next public meeting to discuss local crime and community safety issues in Brentwood.

The public meeting will start at 6pm on Thursday November 13, 2014.

There will be plenty of time for questions.

Earlier in the afternoon, between 4-5pm, Nick Alston will hold the first of his PCC surgeries, enabling local members of the public to have a one-to-one discussion with him if they would prefer this to speaking in the public meeting.

A full briefing document detailing crime trends in the area will be published a few days before the meeting.

Nick Alston, Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex, said: "I encourage everyone who lives in the Brentwood area to come along to the meeting and raise the issues that matter to them around crime and policing. We’ll also be discussing what the new local policing plans recently implemented by Essex Police mean for the area.”

As well as the PCC, the Essex Police district commander for Brentwood, Chief Inspector Denise Morrissey, and representatives from the Community Safety Partnership will be in attendance.

They will help the PCC explore the facts around crime in the area and explain the actions being taken by local officers to keep Brentwood safe. Everyone in the audience will have time to ask questions of the PCC, police and the council.

Nick Alston added: "If you care about keeping Brentwood safe, please come along to the meeting and be part of the debate.”

The public meeting is scheduled for: Brentwood Time: 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday November 13, 2014.

Location: Hutton Community Centre, Harrison Close, Hutton, Brentwood, CM13 1LP
