POLICE discovered what they believe to be remnants of a cannabis factory in a Brentwood flat.

Officers were called to the flat in Rollason Way on Sunday morning after reports of damage to its front door.

They found the door open and the property empty, but found some of the drug in the flat, pictured inset.

PCSO Sarah Raison tweeted a picture, inset, from the scene. In her tweet, she said: “Cannabis factory found in #Brentwood, investigation ongoing. #saynotodrugs”

A police spokeswoman said: “Police were called shortly after 7.30am on Sunday, November, 2, following reports of criminal damage to the door of a flat on Rollason Way in Brentwood. Officers attending found that a communal door had been forced open.

“There was no one present at the property but officers found a small amount of cannabis beleiveed to be the remains of cannabis cultivation. Enquiries are ongoing.”
